New Director of Sales, Stuart Montague tells us about 2025 so far

After his promotion to Director of Sales, the AGL social media team sat down with Stuart Montague to chat through 2025 and beyond.

 

How have you found your time with AGL since joining in January?

It’s been a brilliant start. From day one, I’ve felt genuinely welcomed and supported by the team. There’s a real sense of momentum across the business, and it’s exciting to be part of a company that’s so forward-thinking and commercially sharp. I’ve enjoyed getting stuck into the sales strategy and building relationships across the wider group.

What are you looking forward to most about your new role?

I’m really looking forward to driving growth and unlocking new opportunities — both with existing partners and in new markets. The chance to shape the sales direction and work closely with our talented teams across operations, sales and marketing is something I’m genuinely energised by. There’s a lot of potential here, some great opportunities and I believe we have the best solutions and people to help customers realise it!

How do you see the landscape of your sector evolving in the coming months?

It’s a dynamic space, and I think we’ll continue to see shifts in customer expectations, especially around speed, flexibility, and digital engagement. The businesses that can stay agile and keep delivering value — not just volume — will be the ones that thrive. I also expect more emphasis on data-led decision-making and strategic partnerships.

How do you adapt to the upcoming Christmas peak?

Preparation is key. We’re already working closely with our teams to ensure capacity planning, resource alignment, and client communications are all watertight. It’s about being proactive, not reactive — making sure we’re anticipating challenges and staying ahead of the curve. Collaboration across departments is crucial, and we’ve got a strong rhythm in place.
